KINDS OF POWER TOOLS FOR CONSTRUCTION
A power tool is a device that is triggered by an additional power source and mechanism, other than the solely manual labor used with hand tools. The most common types of power tools use electric motors.
Power tools are used in industries, construction sites, garden, for housework tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and around the house for purposes of driving (fasteners), drilling, cutting, shaping, sanding, grinding, routing, polishing, painting, heating and more.
Power tools are classified as either stationary or portable, where portable means hand-held. Portable power tools have obvious advantages in mobility. Stationary power tools, however, often have advantages in speed and precision. A typical table saw, for instance, not only cuts faster than a regular hand saw, but the cuts are smoother, straighter, and better than what is normally achievable with a hand-held power saw. Some stationary power tools can produce objects that cannot be made in any other way.
Categories of Power tools:
The categories of power tools are vast, but we will consider the list below:
- Rotary Hammer
- Angle grinder
- Impact Wrench
- Belt sander
- Router
- Chainsaw
- Heat Gun
- Mitre Saw etc
ROTARY HAMMER:
BoschGBH 5-38 Rotary Hammer with SDS-MAX
HEAVY DUTY ROTARY HAMMER AND DRILL MACHINE WITH SDS MAX INGCO RH120068
This machine is used for tasks that require speed, efficiency, and power.
Rotary Hammers work faster than a traditional drill, meaning that it can punch holes more accurately and powerfully. All of this can be achieved in a short amount of time, with the best part being that they are durable and comes with a great warranty.
ANGLE GRINDER:
Bosch GWS 24-230 H + CB Professional Angle Grinder

The corded angle grinders require them to be connected to an electric source, while the cordless grinders which is of an advanced technology works with batteries and does not require an electric source. They can be used for cutting and smoothing out hard edges and materials like stone, metal, wood, etc.
MITRE SAW:
DeWalt Compound Mitre Saw - Sliding - 12" - 15 A
A mitre saw is a tool that has a blade mounted on its swing arm, making it easier to pivot on right and left angles.
Miter saw can be found in different types with each offering a different tilting ability, depending on the required use.
Cordless Impact Driver/Wrench GDX 18V-200 C Professional

CHAINSAW:
Chainsaws are power tools that are of great value and widely used at construction sites, and other areas were necessary. They are identified by their rotating teeth which are attached to a rotating chain on a guide bar. A cylinder engine with a battery pack or gasoline is essential to power the chainsaw.
Chainsaws are portable, handheld machines that can be used for a variety of woodwork/metalwork. These versatile devices can cut any material, regardless of how large or thick it is. Chainsaw is a dangerous tool and must be used with precaution.
STANLEY Blower Hot Air Heat Gun 2000W STEL670
Heat Gun is a specially designed handheld tool that generates hot air for a wide variety of tasks. Heat guns are used to strip old paint, shrink materials like film, dry wood, tubing, bend hard plastic, or thaw frozen pipes. These special guns need electricity to produce heat; generally, the temperature of hot air is around 100 degrees Celsius to 550 degrees Celsius.
SAFETY MEASURES:
Appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety coveralls, goggles, and gloves must be worn to protect against hazards that may be encountered while using power tools. Workplace floors should be kept as clean and dry as possible to prevent accidental slips with the use of power tools. Power tools must be fitted with guards and safety switches; they are extremely hazardous when used improperly. The types of power tools are determined by their power source: electric, pneumatic, liquid fuel, hydraulic, and powder-actuated. To prevent hazards associated with the use of power tools, workers should observe the following general precautions:
- Never carry a tool by the cord or hose.
- Keep cords and hoses away from heat, oil, and sharp edges.
- Disconnect tools when not using them, before servicing and cleaning them, and when changing accessories such as blades, bits, and cutters.
- Ensure that employees not involved with the work are at a safe distance from the work area.
- Be sure to keep good footing and maintain good balance when operating power tools.
- Wear proper apparel for the task. Loose clothing, ties, or jewelry can become caught in moving parts.
- Remove all damaged portable electric tools from use and tag them: "Do Not Use."
- Check for exposed cables that could lead to electrocution.
- Ensure the operator is willing to carry out the assigned task, as it will help avoid associated hazard.
